Internal Complaint Committee

In adherence to the guidelines outlined by the University Grants Commission (UGC) the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at Government Arts and Science College, Calicut, was established to address and mitigate issues related to sexual harassment of women in the workplace.


OBJECTIVES
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent sexual harassment in the institution. Conduct awareness programs, workshops, and training sessions to educate students, faculty, and staff about sexual harassment, gender sensitivity, and the rights and responsibilities of all individuals.
  • Promote a culture of respect, equality, and understanding through regular sensitization initiatives.
  • Provide a confidential and accessible platform for individuals to report incidents of sexual harassment.
  • Ensure that complaints are handled promptly, fairly, and in a sensitive manner, following the principles of natural justic
  • Offer support and counseling services to victims of sexual harassment, ensuring they have access to necessary emotional and psychological support.
  • Implement UGC guidelines and institutional policies on the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment.
  • Regularly monitor and review the effectiveness of policies and procedures, making necessary updates and improvements.
  • Submit periodic reports on the activities and functioning of the ICC to the college/university administration and the UGC as required.
