WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
The Department of English came into existence in the year 1964 and was upgraded to an under graduate department in the year 1970. The department was granted M.A. in English Language and Literature (with Media Studies as elective) in the year 2020. The postgraduate course is equivalent to M.A. English and is designed with the objective of introducing students of M.A. English to the interdisciplinary area of Media Studies. The department has well qualified and experienced panel of teachers. Dr. Moncy Mathew is at the helm of affairs at the department, which now has 10 permanent faculty and 2 Guest faculty. The department has also produced eminent citizens – social activists, writers and social commentators.
