WILDLIFE WEEK CELEBRATION

As part of Wildlife week celebration a talk was conducted on 06.10.2023 at the Malayalam Dept. Seminar Hall. Sri. Joshil M, Assistant Forest Conservator, Forest Dept., Kerala was the speaker . ‘Wildlife and Man’ was the topic of the talk. 54 students and 3 teachers participated in the program.

The speech of Mr. Joshil was very inspiring. He talked about the conflict between man and wildlife. Discussed the causes of frequent NIPAH outbreaks in Kozhikode district. Its actually a problem that should be discussed in the wildlife week. Bats are a part of wildlife. When the usual roosting places of bats are disturbed by human activities it causes the bats to search for new areas for roosting. The men and other animals around the usual place where the bats roost would be resistant to NIPAH virus. But if they are forced to migrate, the result would not be the same. Mr. Joshil stressed on the peaceful co- existence of man and wildlife for a better future.
