About the department

Welcome to the Department of statistics of Govt. Arts & Science College, Kozhikode. Department of Statistics established in the year 1978 with the commencement of the BSc Mathematics. The PG Course in statistics started in the year 2012. Now department offers Statistics courses for M. Sc. Statistics, M. A. Economics, B. A. Economics and Complementary courses for B. Sc. Mathematics. Department strives to maintain high standards of teaching and research in various areas of Statistics. Several curricular and co-curricular activities are organized through out the year to promote and nurture Statistics among students. Department has six Permanent Teaching faculties and one guest faculty (see Faculty). Faculties are actively involved in research and published research articles in reputed International and National Journals. The area of research include Biostatistics, Clinical Trials, Distribution Theory, Microarray Analysis, Psychometric Analysis, Quality Control, Reliability, Survival analysis, Time Series Analysis and Statistical Inference. Faculty members are actively engaged in participating and presenting research papers in National and International Conferences. Many faculties offer consultancy services to Research students from various disciplines.
